2 hurt in police chase in Colleton County

Sometimes, police pursuits end in people getting hurt. Normally, the police will stop pursuing a suspect if they are approaching intersections or busy city areas, but sometimes, that doesn't stop accidents from happening.

Take, for example, a case that took place near Quail Drive and Mount Carmel Road in Colleton County. Officials reported that a Chevy Impala was attempting to flee from the police when it lost control and overturned. Both occupants were trapped inside.

The Walterboro Police, along with the Walterboro Sheriff Deputies, were immediately at the scene. The passenger in the Impala, a female, was able to be removed by police, but the driver was trapped until emergency crews could arrive. He complained of suffering injuries and was treated while inside the vehicle until they were able to free him.

The crash is still being investigated, and both victims had to be transported to the Trauma Center at Trident Hospital in North Charleston. They both had injuries, though the female's were said to be nonlife-threatening.

In this case, there's a lot that is unclear. However, victims, such as the passenger in this vehicle, could choose to pursue a claim against a driver who acted recklessly and caused a collision. Even people riding in the same vehicle have rights, so if they were hurt by their own driver, then it's fair for them to seek compensation as well.

Auto accidents come in many shapes and forms. If you're hurt, remember that you can file a claim against the driver who is responsible for causing your crash and injuries.
